Thank you to all for making Earth Day such a successful day! About 250 volunteers turned out to join SCA, the University of Washington Botanic Gardens, and Seattle Parks and Recreation for a day of fun projects at the Washington Park Arboretum on Saturday, April 18. Mayor Greg Nickels and Seattle Parks and Recreation Superintendent Timothy Gallagher joined volunteers and got their hands dirty removing non-native invasive plants, mulching, and improving the Arboretum. SCA alumni, Conservation Leadership Corps members, SCA supporters, community members, SCA staff, UWBG staff, Seattle Parks and Recreation staff all turned out in support of Earth Day and once again, SCA’s high school members lead the projects!
