Philadelphia, PA: Earth Day Service at Darby Creek

Join SCA this Earth Day for the best time you’ve ever had getting dirty! SCA Philadelphia will be participating in the annual Darby Creek Clean-Up, hosted by the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. Come out and serve this beautiful community space!

Volunteers will work to preserve the refuge through creek clean-up and trash removal. This is a great opportunity for scouts and community or business groups to provide a much-needed service to benefit all who utilize the refuge.

WHEN: Saturday, April 23rd, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm 

WHERE: John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge, 8601 Lindbergh Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19151. (Kickoff will take place at the Visitor Center.)

WHAT: Darby Creek Clean-Up Day!

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably work boots or sturdy sneakers, and bring a reusable water bottle. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather! 

PROVIDED: The generous staff of the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge will provide lunch for all volunteers, as well as project materials and work gloves.
