Houston, TX: Earth Day Service at Sam Houston Park

Join SCA at the Earth Day Houston celebrations at Sam Houston Park in partnership with the USFWS Houston Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership and Houston Parks and Recreation Department.

SCA alumni are invited to volunteer at the SCA booth to share their experiences with SCA, explain conservation career opportunities, and help run hands-on activities for kids related to wildlife habitat issues, bats, and pollinators. Volunteers may come for a full-day or half-day shift.

WHEN: Saturday, April 16th, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm (booth volunteers must arrive by 1:30 pm)

WHERE: Sam Houston Park, 1000 Bagby Street, Houston, TX 77002. (SCA will be stationed at the Houston Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership booth next to the HPARD booth in the Land Zone.)

WHAT: Volunteer at the SCA booth to share your SCA experiences and help run hands-on activities for kids related to wildlife habitat issues, bats, and pollinators.

BRING WITH YOU: Come dressed in your SCA and/or AmeriCorps apparel! Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Consider bringing a hat, sunscreen, and bugspray as the booth will be outdoors in the sun. Optional: bring a tote bag to collect fun swag from other tables at the event!

PROVIDED: SCA volunteers will have the opportunity to check out other tables at the event to network with conservation organizations and collect fun swag!
