This April, SCA is hosting 60 projects for Earth Day in honor of 60 years of SCA!
With national support from American Express, we are aiming to connect our members, alumni, friends, and partners across the country to create a nationwide network of Earth Month celebrations.
Join SCA and American Express employee volunteers in lower Manhattan for a “preview” Earth Day event on THURSDAY, April 19th as we restore one of NYC’s most iconic parks.
WHEN: THURSDAY, April 19th, 9:00 am -12:00 pm. Breakfast & check-in beginning at 9:00 am, kick-off at 9:30 am.
WHERE: Washington Square Park, New York, NY 10012
Take A/C trains to West 4th Street/Washington Square. Enter at Washington Square Arch and follow SCA signage to kickoff area.
WHAT: Volunteers will help to re-sod central lawns and plant annuals in the park’s perimeter gardens.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!
PROVIDED: SCA will supply coffee and snacks for volunteers as well as work gloves and all project supplies. Volunteers will also receive SCA ConSERVE t-shirts.
