This April, SCA is hosting 60 projects for Earth Day in honor of 60 years of SCA!
With national support from Southwest Airlines and American Express, we are aiming to connect our members, alumni, friends, and partners across the country to create a nationwide network of Earth Month celebrations.
Join SCA’s Hudson Valley Corps and the NYSDEC Hudson River Estuary Program’s “Trees for Tribs” initiative to celebrate Earth Day by potting up and labeling hundreds of young trees! Potted seedlings will be used by the Trees for Tribs program for planting on streamside properties to protect water quality, fish, and wildlife.
WHEN: Friday, April 27th, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
WHERE: NYSDEC Region 3 Offices, 21 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz, NY 12561. (Meet at “The Berm” near the far righthand corner of the parking lot.)
WHAT: Potting up young trees which will be planted along Hudson River tributaries to improve water quality.
BRING WITH YOU: Dress appropriately for the weather and bring your own reusable water bottle.
PROVIDED: Free pizza lunch and water will be provided for volunteers, along with free SCA t-shirts.
