Join SCA and Houston Parks and Recreation for a day of service at Sunnyside Park. Volunteers will work to improve the health of this public green space by planting native trees and removing invasive plants. In partnership with the National Environmental Education Foundation, SCA will host a series of service projects throughout the Houston area over the next six months. Come and be part of our service kick-off. Friends and family are welcome!
WHEN: Saturday, January 31st, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
WHERE: Sunnyside Park and Community Center, 3502 Bellfort Street, Houston, TX 77051. Meet in front of the Community Center for registration and welcome.
WHAT: Volunteers will plant trees and remove invasive plants.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably mud, hiking, or work boots. Also please bring a water bottle that can be refilled. SCA will provide snacks and lunch as well as all project materials for volunteers.
