Come celebrate Earth Day with SCA, the Bayou Preservation Association, and Houston Audubon with a day of service at Edith L. Moore Sanctuary. Volunteers will work to improve the health of this public green space by planting native trees, clearing invasive plants, removing litter, mulching trails, and planting native garden beds. In partnership with the National Environmental Education Foundation, SCA will host a series of service projects throughout the Houston area over the next six months. Come join us!
WHEN: Saturday, March 21st, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Houston Audubon’s Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, 440 Wilchester Blvd., Houston, Texas 77079. Meet at the Cabin for registration and welcome.
WHAT: Volunteers will plant trees, remove invasive plants, litter removal, trail mulching, and native garden bed planting.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes, preferably hiking or work boots. Also please bring a water bottle that can be refilled. Snacks as well as all project materials for volunteers will be provided.
