Join SCA in the coming year as we launch ConSERVE Chicago, a public service intiative devoted to mobilizing young people in support of Chicago’s public lands. With large-scale service events hosted on a quarterly basis, SCA will provide a platform for members of the Chicago community to give back and connect with others who care about conservation and urban resiliency.
For the kickoff ConSERVE Chicago event, SCA will be teaming up with the Forest Preserves of Cook County to celebrate Public Lands Day through service at Thatcher Woods in River Forest.
Located just 10 miles west of downtown Chicago, Thatcher Woods offers a 245-acre forest habitat straddling the Des Plaines River. SCA volunteers will help restore this native floodplain forest by removing invasive species as part of the Forest Preserve’s “100 Years, 100 Events” Celebration.
