ConSERVE Bay Area: MLK Day on San Bruno Mountain

Monday, January 18, 2016 - January 18, 2016 9:30 am

Join SCA in the coming year as we launch ConSERVE Bay Area, a public service initiative devoted to mobilizing young people in support of the Bay Area’s public lands. With large-scale service events hosted on a quarterly basis, SCA will provide a platform for members of the Bay Area community to give back and connect with others who care about conservation and urban resiliency.

We will be celebrating our first event at San Bruno Mountain State and County Park as we restore the Old Guadalupe Trail and remove harmful invasive plants. SCA is mobilizing volunteers coast to coast in celebration of the MLK Day of Service. Join us as we serve the Bay Area’s Parks!

For the kick-off ConSERVE Bay Area event, SCA will be teaming up with San Mateo County Parks Department. What began as a small partnership in 2009 between SCA and San Mateo County Parks Department has grown over the years to include a School Year Program, five Summer Crews, a GIS Team, and a Young Adult Winter Corps. San Bruno Mountain Watch, the leading non-profit working on behalf of San Bruno Mountain, will also be present to help at the event. SCA is proud to partner with San Mateo County Parks Department and San Bruno Mountain Watch to kick off the ConSERVE Bay Area initiative!
