Saturday, April 12, 2014 - April 12, 2014 10:00 am

Join the Student Conservation Association and American Eagle Outfitters to give back to the city you love! On April 12th dozens of volunteers will be helping to transform a community space into an outdoor learning center in the heart of Chicago as part of the HeART This City nationwide tour.

Join us. Bring friends. You don’t want to miss this.

WHEN: Saturday, April 12th, 10:00am – 4:00pm

WHERE: Our Lady of Tepeyac Grade School, 2228 South Whipple, Chicago, IL 60623. Parking is available on surrounding streets. The site is within walking distance of the Kedzie-Cermak pink line.

WHAT: Volunteers will transform an empty lot into an outdoor classroom by constructing a butterfly garden and native plant garden and improving playground spaces.

BRING WITH YOU: Wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (boots are preferable). All project materials will be provided.

PROVIDED: SCA will provide lunch for volunteers as well as a limited-edition “HeART This City” t-shirt and water bottle. At the event you can register for the chance to win a trip to one of the other service projects SCA will be hosting throughout the country!
