Join SCA and Friends of the Forest Preserves for an alumni work day in Chicago!
WHEN: Saturday, March 10th, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
WHERE: Dan Ryan Woods. Meet in the parking lot next to the 91st St. Metra station (9105 S. Prospect Sq., Chicago, IL 60620). Free parking available.
WHO: Alumni of past programs with the Student Conservation Association and Friends of the Forest Preserves.
WHAT: Restoration work cutting and burning invasive species. Food and celebration to follow.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and sturdy work boots and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
PROVIDED: Tools, water, and personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, hard hats) will be provided. Food and celebration to follow the work day at 1:00 pm!

TRANSPORTATION DETAILS:
Dan Ryan Woods is accessible on public transportation by taking the CTA Red Line to the 87th St. stop and from there taking the 87 bus west to the 87th and Western St. terminal.
There will be spots available in a school bus driving to Dan Ryan Woods on the morning of March 10th from the Chicago Loop. A bus will leave from outside SCA offices at 224 S. Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60604 at 9am and will return no later than 4pm. Please email Daiva Gylys [email protected] to reserve your seat on the bus.
There will also be a bus pick-ups provided by Friends of the Forest Preserves from Prairie State College (202 S Halsted St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411) at 9am sharp and from South Suburban College (15800 State St, South Holland, IL 60473) at 9:25am sharp on the morning of March 10th. You must RSVP for a spot on these buses by emailing [email protected] no later than 3:00 PM on March 5th. If you do not RSVP you cannot ride the bus.
