As part of the Southwest Airlines Spring Systemwide Initiative, come join SCA and Southwest Airlines employees, friends, and family for a morning of volunteer service. Connect with the Dallas community, give back, and enjoy the opportunity to restore important habitat along the Trinity River corridor.
WHEN: Monday, April 28th, 2014 – 9AM to 12PM. Please plan to arrive at 8:45am to register. Projects will start promptly at 9am.
WHERE: 1807 E 8th Street, Dallas, TX 75203. Travel from 1807 East 8th Street, cross the railroad tracks and turn right onto Santé Fe Ave. Travel 0.5 miles to the circle parking area. Signs will be placed on 8th Street and Santé Fe Ave to direct volunteers.
WHAT: Volunteers will work to remove trash, debris, and invasive plants around the wetlands and plant new native species that will help the wetlands thrive.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes and your blue “From the Heart” shirt. There will be a good amount of walking and the ground may be muddy and wet. Water and snacks will be provided. (If you do not have a blue From the Heart shirt please email [email protected] with your name and shirt size.)
