Buchanan Street Earth Day

Come join us for Earth Day! We will be planting about 20 native trees on Buchanan Street!
 
WHEN: Wednesday, April 23th at 10:00 am to 12:30 pm CDT. The planting ceremony will begin at 10am with some word from our crew. Afterward, we will split into groups and plant trees in designated locations throughout the school grounds. Please confirm online reservation at check in table upon arrival.
 
WHERE: Buchanan Street, Gary IN 46408. Look for the Student Conservation Association work truck and trailer! Please stop by the check-in table underneath the pop up tent!
 
WHAT: Volunteers will plant and mulch 20 native trees.
 
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, face mask, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Due to COVID-19 we will not have shared beverage options. There will be bottled water on hand should you need it, but we promote bringing your own water in a reusable water bottle if possible! Face masks are required to participate*
 
PROVIDED: All project supplies (tools, gloves, etc.) are provided. Tools and gloves will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the event. Small working groups will be assigned and maintained throughout the planting for contact tracing purposes.
