Boston: Kids’ Day of Service with Whole Foods & SCA

Saturday, September 7, 2013 - September 7, 2013 10:00 am

Kids (with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins!) – join Whole Foods Market team members for a day of community service. We love to give back to our community, and we are really excited to partner with the Boston Nature Center (http://www.massaudubon.org/Nature_Connection/Sanctuaries/Boston/index.php) to dig in and get our hands dirty!

We will be weeding and cleaning up the Nature Nook, walkways, orchard and doing general litter removal and beautification of the grounds. Everyone is encouraged to bring gardening supplies, especially gloves and rakes. We will be spending the day outside, so please consider bringing or wearing sunscreen, bugspray, a hat, long sleeves and long pants. There are a range of activities that are appropriate for children as young as 4 all the way up to grown-ups. We will be joined by teen volunteers from the Student Conservation Association (http://www.thesca.org) who are experts on weeding and trail maintenance and will help facilitate our volunteer groups.

We will provide a healthy and delicious lunch and share information about our Whole Kids Foundation (http://wholekidsfoundation.org) and what they do to provide healthy foods, and healthy eating education to kids and families in our area!

Where: Mass Audubon, Boston Nature Center, 500 Walk Hill St, Boston, MA 02126

When: Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (EDT)
