SCA invites our DC-area alumni, current members, staff, friends, and supporters for a special day in Rock Creek Park located right in our nation’s capital! Join us as we hike the 3.5-mile Boulder Bridge Loop and wind down with a relaxing picnic.
Rock Creek Park is truly a gem in our nation’s capital. This 1,754-acre city park was officially authorized in 1890, making it the third national park to be designated by the federal government. Come along as we escape the bustle of the city and find peaceful refuge, encounter history, and get some fresh air.
WHEN: Saturday, April 1st, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (hike from 10-12pm, picnic from 12-1pm).
WHERE: Rock Creek Park Nature Center and Planetarium, 5200 Glover Road, NW, Washington, DC 20015
Look for SCA Staff in blue shirts in front of the Nature Center!
The Friendship Heights or Fort Totten metro stations are closest to the Nature Center. Take the E-2 or E-3 bus from either metro stop to the intersection of Glover & Military Rd. Get off, look to your left, and follow the trail up to the Nature Center. Parking is also available at the Nature Center, though we encourage you to coordinate carpooling if you plan on driving.
WHAT:

• Explore the Boulder Bridge Loop, a 3.5-mile hike through forest and creek-side ecosystems that President Theodore Roosevelt frequented over one hundred years ago.
