New York City: Alumni Hike at Hudson River Park

Saturday, June 10, 2017 - June 10, 2017 10:00 am

SCA invites our NYC-area alumni, current members, friends, and supporters for a special urban hike in Hudson River Park in Manhattan, led by Tina Walsh, Hudson River Park Assistant Director of Environmental Education & SCA Alumni Council Chair.

Hudson River Park is a 550-acre riverside park and estuarine sanctuary located on the west side of Manhattan between Battery Place and W. 59th Street. With five miles of continuous bike path, in addition to free summer kayaking, nature walks, fishing programs, historic maritime vessels, and more, Hudson River Park offers ways for every New Yorker to connect to the waterfront. Since 2012, SCA has been proud to partner with the Hudson River Park Trust to have SCA members serve each year as part of the park’s education team.

WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, 10am-12pm (hike ends around 12pm, optional picnic lunch and/or extended hike on the High Line to follow)

WHERE: Pier 25, Hudson River Park, New York, NY 10013 (meet at the Pier 25 Comfort Station). See Google Maps pin.

Take the 1 to Franklin Street, A/C/E to Canal Street, or 1/2/3 to Chambers Street, then walk toward the river to West Street & N. Moore Street.

Hike will begin at the south end of the park at Pier 25 and continue north for 2 miles to conclude at Pier 51, where participants can pick up the 1/2/3 trains at 14th Street, connect to the south end of the High Line, or continue north to explore more of the park.
