Adirondack Corps Recognition Ceremony

Please join SCA in recognizing the accomplishments of our Adirondack AmeriCorps members at the 17th Annual Adirondack Corps Recognition Ceremony! SCA partners, supporters, alumni, friends, and family are invited to attend a ceremony hosted by SCA at the Whitney Wilderness/ADK Corps HQ in Long Lake, followed by a light lunch. 

The Adirondack AmeriCorps Program is a five-month residential internship with a focus on trail maintenance and construction. Members serve in teams of five in remote backcountry settings for up to 10 days at a time, working alongside the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation throughout the majority of the 6 million-acre Adirondack Park. Projects include new trail construction, extensive timber bridge construction, dry stone masonry, removal of invasive vegetation, fire tower rehabilitation, historic building restoration, and trail maintenance.  Adirondack Program members share a residential community where they live and work alongside one another for the duration of the season. 

WHEN: Friday, October 14th, 2016. Ceremony begins promptly at 11am. 

WHERE: Whitney Wilderness/ADK Corps HQ, 901 Sabattis Road, Long Lake, NY 12847.  

WHAT: SCA Adirondack members will showcase their accomplishments from the year and will be honored in a graduation ceremony, followed by a reception luncheon.
