East Chicago Arbor Day Tree Planting Honoring Mr. Richard Morrisroe

Join the SCA and the City of East Chicago in planting trees outside at Nunez Park on Friday, April 29th at 10 AM CDT!
WHEN: Friday, April 29th at 10:00 am to 2:00 pm CDT. The planting ceremony will begin at 10 am with honoring Mr. Richard Morrisroe. Afterward, we will split into groups and plant trees in designated locations throughout the park and neighborhood. Please confirm online reservation at check in table upon arrival.
WHERE: Nunez Park 136th and Elm East Chicago, IN. Look for the Student Conservation Association work truck and trailer! Please stop by the check-in table underneath the pop up tent!
WHAT: Volunteers will plant and mulch 25 native trees.
BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, face mask, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Due to COVID-19 we will not have shared beverage options. There will be bottled water on hand should you need it, but we promote bringing your own water in a reusable water bottle if possible! Face masks are required to participate*
PROVIDED: All project supplies (tools, gloves, etc.) are provided. Tools and gloves will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the event. Small working groups will be assigned and maintained throughout the planting for contact tracing purposes.
