SCA joined forces with Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to celebrate Veterans Day this past weekend in Washington, DC. Over 130 volunteers of all ages came together to honor veterans who have risked their lives to protect America’s freedoms, continuing their legacy of service with hands-on volunteer work in their local community.
On November 7th, over 40 employee volunteers from SCA’s partner MUFG Union Bank gathered on Randall’s Island to restore New York City’s freshwater wetlands as part of MUFG’s National Employee Volunteer Month.
Through the support of American Express, SCA brought together almost 400 volunteers this weekend to mark the 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance with #FindYourPark Day of Service Events in New York City and Washington, DC.
SCA ramped up Earth Day celebrations to new heights this year, marking Earth Day with hands-on conservation service in 14 cities coast to coast and engaging 1,500 volunteers nationwide.
This Saturday SCA teamed up with American Express to celebrate Earth Day by bringing more than 350 volunteers to Fort Totten Park in Washington, DC. This event followed another successful partnership event with American Express in New York City last weekend, and concluded a month of SCA Earth Day celebrations in 16 cities nationwide.
This past Saturday SCA joined forces with American Express to celebrate Earth Day by bringing more than 400 volunteers to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. This day of service marked the first of 18 national events SCA and American Express will host over the next 18 months in celebration of the National Park Service Centennial.
On February 7th, ﬂurries were in the air and over a foot of snow already blanketed Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx. But that didn’t stop 65 volunteers from coming out to the riverfront for February’s ConSERVE NYC event.
Despite freezing temperatures, over 450 DC-area residents rallied together at Anacostia Park to celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service through a morning of volunteering on the riverfront. Among the volunteers in attendance were special guests Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell, National Park Service Director Jon Jarvis, and SCA President and CEO Jaime Matyas.
