Finally at the Arapaho National Forest to work. The first project is to clear hazard trees from a busy venue and to make getting fire wood easier for the locals. It’s a good opportunity to refine some of the skills we have just learned. The work is hard but we are still exited about getting out of the classroom to do some real work. The pine beetles really did a number on this forest, it seems like every time the wind blows a tree falls, so we have been making sure to post look outs and maintain good communication in order to prevent anything from going wrong. It’s not long before we get into the swing of things up here and get to do some campground refurbishing by replacing some barriers.
