Tyler Oster

I grew up in East Texas, and have spent the past four and a half years in New Orleans, a city with which I have quite the love affair. I spent this past summer as an SCA intern in the natural resource management department at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve  (just outside of New Orleans). My work mostly consisted of assessing impacts of feral hogs  throughout the preserve and monitoring floating aquatic invasive species, though fieldwork was  fairly diverse. While I loved my time there, I’m looking forward to heading out west and kicking  this humidity for a bit. I’ve also worked in the restaurant industry since I was sixteen and have held just about every  position there is, including host, busser, dishwasher, cook, server, bartender, and manager. I’m excited to see California for the first time, and look forward to sleeping under the stars  this season.
