Hello All! My name is Maddy Hunt and I am an Environmental Educator/Interpretive Ranger for the SCA New Hampshire Corps 2012! Last summer I worked as an SCA Intern in the Environmental Education Department at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico. I taught kids of all ages about desert plants, animals, and of course, the cave! I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach kids about the forests and granite bedrock here in New Hampshire. There is so much to do and explore in this beautiful state and I feel honored to be given the opportunity to teach others about what this state has to offer the nature enthusiast.
I graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a degree in Sociology and minors in Environmental Studies and Philosophy. I worked for the Adirondack Mountain Club as a Summer Naturalist in Summer 2008, and it was there that I found my calling. I love taking visitors, school groups, and friends on hikes to explore the natural world and expand our understanding of how it all works! I look forward to teaching in the classroom for the first 4 months, and then moving to the state parks in the summer as a Park Ranger.
As a New England Native it is awesome to be back on the East Coast as an Environmental Educator. Its going to be a great year!
