Lucy Herleth graduated from Saint Louis University in December with a
Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies degree. While studying
environmental issues in college, she explored the sciences and
outdoors through service and travel. She joined the Ohio Wesleyan
University environmental club, traveled to Nicaragua to encounter
sustainable agriculture, worked at the Missouri Botanical Garden, and
was a part of ACE, a corps in Arizona. Her favorite job was serving as a gallery interpreter at the Saint Louis Science Center where during the past year she demonstrated geological forces and discussed
dinosaurs. Lucy discovered her love of imparting scientific
information to children and her favorite dinosaur (a
parasaurolophus).
Lucy is excited to work with SCA for the first time. Not only does
she get to work with such a unique group of people, but she gets the
opportunity to work in education and outdoor corps work. She is
especially thrilled to lead grade school field trips, get trained in
chainsaw use, and camp for the majority of the summer!
