Please Welcome the 2014 Manchester CLC Leaders

•

Please give a warm welcome to the new 2014 Manchester CLC Leaders aka the Flannel Four. The year is starting off with a BANG and they are excited to meet the returning Manchester CLC members, as well as recruting new members. The Flannel Four is a diverse group of eccentric people. They come from all across the country and have brought with them a wide variety of interests and talents. They personally guarantee an upcoming year that will be filled with fun, excitement, and new experiences. Their group mantra is to GET THINGS DONE.

Jordan Johnson

Hi, my name is Jordan Johnson.  I am one of the four SCA Manchester CLC Leaders.  I am a graduate from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management.  Basically, that degree means that I get to teach people how to have fun outdoors!  I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in a rural setting.  Being outdoors has always been a big part of my lifestyle.  I still consider the Upper Peninsula as my home but have been well traveled throughout the Eastern United States since graduating in May of 2013.  For the previous four summers I have worked various positions at a youth camp and that is what gave me the realization that I want to teach about the outdoors.  Some of my favorite hobbies include hiking, camping, and sports such as volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee.  This is my first experience in the Northeast and I am very excited to get to know the area and some of the people here.  My three favorite animals are eagles, narwhals, and wolverines.

Lauren Frigm

Hi y’all, my name is Lauren. I am an SCA Manchester CLC Leader. I was born and raised in the small but great state of Delaware. I went to school in Virginia (James Madison University) and fell in love with the Blue Ridge/Shenandoah Mountains and the mountain way of life. I love nature and almost any outdoor activity including hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, surfing, fishing and star gazing and am always open to try new things. I am looking forward to all the fun outdoor projects and environmental learning we will be doing this season. Three of my favorite things are sloths, leisurely bike rides, and a big slice of pizza.

Tomás Quezada

Howdy! I’m Tomás. I’m originally from Laredo, Texas and I grew up about two blocks away from the Mexican border. I’ve dedicated most of my life to conservation and helping bring positive change to this world. I’ve done a lot of work with animals and I hope to one day work as a herpetologist in field research. As a Manchester CLC leader I hope to bring a lot of inspiration and motivation to the group. I am truly passionate about wildlife and believe that everyone can learn from the connection we have with them. My favorite color is blue, I love snakes, and I love to hike!

Ally Ratliff

Hello! My name is Ally Ratliff, and I am one of the SCA Manchester CLC Leaders. I grew up in Johnstown, PA and attended Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. In the summer of 2011, I studied abroad in the Galapagos Islands for three weeks and helped to restore habitats. After graduating in May 2013, I accepted a Restoration Management Assistant Intern position with The Nature Conservancy in Indiana. While there, I strove to restore native prairie and black oak savannas and gained a greater connection with nature. I am so PUMPED to be a part of this year’s SCA NH Corps. I hope to gain an even greater connection with nature and to share that with you all. If I could choose my spirit animal, it would be a wolf. They travel in packs but also can be independent, and they have a loving, caring nature for their family.
