Melissa Patterson, Program Officer

Melissa Patterson is the Program Director for SCA Massachusetts AmeriCorps. This is her second year in this position, and her seventh year as staff with SCA Massachusetts. She moved into the Program Director role after five years of being Conservation Coordinator. As Program Director Melissa oversees program budgets and assures that the program is meeting all SCA, partner, and AmeriCorps guidelines and expectations. Melissa began working in the conservation service field as a crew leader with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps and at Merck Forest and Farmland Center as an environmental educator. Prior to coming to SCA Massachusetts AmeriCorps, Melissa held a variety of positions within SCA as a corps member, project leader, work skills instructor and assistant conservation coordinator. She received a B.A in environmental studies from Allegheny College and holds a teaching certificate in elementary education.
