I have been a wanderer all of my life, visiting over 1/3 of the National parks, historic sites, and monuments of this great nation. At the age of 5, I earned my first Junior Ranger Badge and Patch, and have been a fan of the system ever since. I journeyed far and wide with family, earning over 40 of the Junior Ranger badges before it became too embarrassing to don the ranger hat, recite the Junior Ranger pledge, and have passers-by stop to clap for my accomplishment. Now I wish to become a full-time National Park Ranger and wear the hat as a part of my daily uniform and my career. I am between my junior and senior years as a student at Roger Williams University; not just a campus, but also the location of a national memorial. I am studying for a B.S. in Marine biology with a Core concentration of Psychology. Being a Girl Scout growing up near the Adirondacks, I learned one of my great passions is being outdoors, preferably on horseback, but also camping, backpacking, canoeing, and hiking; as well as digital photography. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll have camera in hand, but I only like photography if I’m the one taking the shots.
