SCA’s Liz Putnam Named Wilderness Hero

•

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act, theclymb.com – one of the web’s most popular outdoor adventure and retail sites – has just crowned “5 Heroes of the American Wilderness” and among the royalty is SCA Founder Liz Putnam.

The Clymb ranks Liz among the giants: Muir, Leopold, Carson and Howard Zahniser, who penned most of the Wilderness Act in 1964.  “SCA provides millions of voluntary hours to America’s public lands every year while offering valuable experience and skills to young people,” writes The Clymb, which also quotes Liz as urging youth to “go for their dream.”
