Kurt Steigerwald is a Pittsburgh native, working with the Green Building Alliance and their initiatives for Green Schools. He helps to engage preK-12 stakeholders with education and leadership training in order to reform schools into healthy and high performing places.
He has field experience in environmental campaigning with the Sierra Club, fund raising with various non-profits, event planning, working at a conservation educational facility and academic experience in social research and design. He has an interdisciplinary education, receiving a B.A. in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh as well as minors in economics and chemistry. Kurt is also a USGBC accredited LEED Green Associate. Outside of work, his hobbies and interests include botany, ornithology, and entomology.
