I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin until I was 10 years old when my family moved to the cornfield dotted rolling hills in the subtly beautiful countryside of Southwestern Wisconsin. It was there that my already sprouting interest in nature began to rapidly grow. I attended college at the University of Wisconsin— Eau Claire, where I majored in Ecology & Environmental Biology. At UWEC I found amazing opportunities  for studying abroad, such as a research trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness of Northern  Minnesota and a volunteer internship at the Charles Darwin Research Station in the Galápagos Islands. My interests include music, reading, science, critical thinking, biking, taking photos, the great outdoors,  backcountry trips, and last but not least: exploring new environments. I am very excited for this  opportunity to experience the Mojave Desert!
