Former SCA Crew Leader Named Cleveland Sustainability Chief

Mayor Frank G. Jackson has sworn in Matt Gray as Chief of Sustainability at Cleveland City Hall. The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Mayor’s Red Room among co-workers, family members and friends.
 
“Matt Gray has the skills, training, and experience we need as Chief of The Office of Sustainability,” said Mayor Jackson. “He will continue to move Cleveland toward my goal of making Cleveland a Green City on a Blue Lake.”
 
Previously, Matt Gray served as the City of Cleveland’s Director of Sustainability and is responsible for advising the City on policies related to sustainability and the oversight of the Office of Sustainability; leading coordination of the Sustainable Cleveland 2019 initiative; implementing the Cleveland Climate Action Plan and the Sustainable Cleveland Municipal Action Plan; and reducing the City’s ecological footprint with solutions that also save the City money.
 
Prior to his work for the City, Mr. Gray held several positions related to sustainability and climate action in the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
