ALLENSTOWN, N.H. — The 2016 Discover the Power of Parks nature programs will begin the last weekend in June and continue into the fall to help connect the public with nature in the park.
From Lake Umbagog in the north to Hampton Beach in the south, the program is free to those attending the park.
Programs at the parks also focus on building appreciation for New Hampshire’s natural heritage.
Interpretive rangers from the Student Conservation Association will present informative programs all summer long and are available for fall nature programming.
The fall events are perfect for scout groups, classrooms, after-school programs, a senior center, or library program while the summer programs are great for visitors to the parks of all ages.
The interpretive rangers offer guided hikes, interpretive tours, and imaginative environmental workshops for children and families.
Programs are offered free to guests with paid park admission fee.
Discover the Power of Parks is presented by New Hampshire State Parks in collaboration with the Student Conservation Association. The Discover the Power of Parks program is made possible by financial support from Eversource.
A kick-off for the summer program is being held today at Bear Brook State Park.
