Hi guys, my name is Dan, and I will be coming from Southeast Kansas! This will be my second stint working with the SCA. I was just in Lawrence, KS with an awesome crew doing Army Corps Visitor Surveys over the summer, and decided to stick with the SCA for more fun! I am about a year away from graduating with an Archaeology/Anthropology degree, with my focus on the Southwest and Pacific Coast, and decided that I would have better options if I finished school in that region. I’m originally from the backfields of Kansas, and although I’ve spent a lot of time traveling, I have yet to live outside the state. I’m a pretty typical country boy; I enjoy hunting, fishing, 4×4’s, playing red-dirt guitar, and everything outdoors. However, I also have interests that are a little odd for my area, as I have been immersing myself in rock climbing, mountain biking, longboarding, and playing reggae guitar as well. I’ve learned much about conservation over the summer and am proud to say that I am absolutely hooked. As hard as it is to admit now, I didn’t even recycle before this summer. That has quite obviously changed, but I know I still have a lot to learn. I can’t wait to be with a group of cool people, in a cool place, doing cool things!
