The forest scene in Seven Tubs Nature Area has a new addition.

Corps members restored trails, assembled picnic tables and completed other projects around the region. State and local officials thanked them for their work Thursday.
“For future crews, we set the bar really high,” said Moxie Niedenthal, one of the crew leaders.
This was the second year the Pennsylvania Outdoor Corps program. The state contracted with The Student Conservation Association, a national organization, to run the program. The Department of Labor and Industry and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources contributed funding.
The programs offer work experience, job training, and educational opportunities to young people who complete recreation and conservation projects on Pennsylvania’s public lands.
Some members who began with this crew left for jobs with DCNR, Niedenthal said.
“That’s kind of the point, to build DCNR’s next workforce,” she said.
“It exposed us to a lot of different conservation jobs,” said crew member Rebecca Rockefeller, 25, of Wilkes-Barre.
