Connection Made: Braving the Snow in Atlanta

•

The SCA and SWA braved a possible two inches of snow forecasted for later in the afternoon in Atlanta to volunteer in Piedmont Park on Monday, Feb.10. The tight-nit crew of volunteers managed to plant 6, 6 gallon pot Sycamore trees, and logged 39 service hours in one brisk morning. Freezing temperatures and frozen rocky Georgia clay proved no match for the volunteers.

The Piedmont Conservancy was very appreciative, as 90% of their work developing the new section of park is done by volunteers! The trees planted Monday had been long overdue, and without the SWA + SCA team, the project would not have been possible.
