Are you or someone you know looking to enroll a child in summer camp? Look no further! The Student Conservation Association (SCA) and Camp Horizons have joined forces to create Camp SCA, an exciting opportunity for 12-15 year olds who are passionate about preserving the environment and keeping the planet green.
What will my child do at Camp SCA?
Camp SCA is built around the structure of a typical SCA Youth Crew. Like the youth crews, campers will live and work with a team, learn how to use tools, and work on a volunteer project. They’ll learn how to build and maintain trails, become familiar with the importance of conservation, and enjoy summer camp activities such as canoeing, zip lining, and Camp Olympics.
How long is Camp SCA?
During the one week session, campers will experience all the fun of a traditional summer camp while also learning about conservation. Camp SCA will run from:
- June 24 – July 7, 2018
Where is Camp SCA located?
Camp SCA is operated by the Horizons Youth Foundation and Camp Horizons, an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited summer camp that has been providing campers with unforgettable summers for 35 years. Camp SCA will be based out of Horizons’ Mountain Campus, located in Luray VA, bordering the Shenandoah National Park.
