This spring, SCA is hosting projects nationwide to honor Earth Day. With national support from Southwest Airlines and American Express, we are aiming to connect our members, alumni, friends, and partners across the country to create a nationwide network of Earth Month celebrations.
In Pittsburgh, SCA and Friends of South Side Park will be planting trees, clearing trails, removing invasive species, and beatuifying the entrances of South Side Park.

Alumni from western PA and across the nation will join together for this exclusive networking event celebrating the achievements of current fellows and 10 years of successful sustainability initiatives in Pittsburgh.

Domtar has joined forces with SCA to lead community service projects at Domtar sites across the US. Together, we will restore parks and other natural resources in locations where Domtar employees live and work.

Volunteers will improve this urban community space by, pulling invasive plants and vines, picking up trash, and helping to maintain hiking trails.

They would do well to follow the example of some of our leading cities, as to date some of the most striking actions on climate change have taken place at the local level – and the greater Pittsburgh community is among those setting the pace.
