The South Warner Wilderness is 70,614 acres, with 79 miles of trail, and the elevation ranges from 4,700 ft. to 9,892 ft. (Eagle Peak summit). The terrain on the western side is a mix of forest and meadows, while the rugged eastern side is steep and offers many unique rock formations. Wild flowers dominate much of the wilderness landscape as well as stunning vistas in every direction. The wilderness receives light visitor use and therefore provides excellent opportunities for solitude. The Warner Mountain Ranger District office is located in Cedarville California approximately 3 hours east of Redding, California; a community of 800 people with many services available (grocery, gas and repair station, bookstore, library, restaurants and hospital). Cedarville is a gateway community to the newly formed Blackrock/Highrock National Conservation Area, which contains 1.2 million acres.
