These postions will be located on the north half of the Monongahela National Forest. Work will be focussed on the Wilderness areas.
The Monongahela National Forest is looking for three Student Conservation Association Interns to assist in management of five Congressionally Designated WIlderness areas adminstered by the Forest including Dolly Sods Wilderness, Roaring Plains Wilderness, Otter Creek Wilderness, Laurel Fork North Wilderness, and Laura Fork South Wilderness.The candidates for this postion must be comfortable working in remote locations for up to four days at a time. Prior back country living and working experience is a must, as is a positive attitude and a desire to maintain these magnificent WIlderness areas. Duties for these postions include contacting visitors, rehabing and removing campsites, trail maintenece, monitoring outfitter/guide use, and implementing the 10 Year Wilderenss Stewardship Challenge.
