Project Leader Name: Megan Petermann Project Dates: June 4, 2010 - Nov. 21, 2010 Email Address: mpetermann@thesca.org
I’ve just graduated from the University of Connecticut with an Environmental Biology degree, and came out here to avoid getting an office job for the next 6 months. This is the first time I’ve ever been backpacking and also the first time I’ve ever been to the west coast – and it’s awesome! I hope someday be able to work in the field protecting wildlife and spread awareness about it – and SCA is a great place to start. I also really like brains, macaroni and cheese, and all my crew members!
I am a recent graduate from Eastern Michigan University. I am also a beard and coffee enthusiast who really enjoys being far away from my cell phone. Never did I think I would find myself in California but am very happy to be doing such hard work in such a beautiful place with such nice people. What else…ummm…Michigan is the best state…please mail me coffee, P.0. Box 127 Whitethorn CA 95589. WILD CORPS!
Hey what up, this is the bio for Chris “The Snooze” Niebuhr. We be talkin bout one bad motha *bleep* who rocks suspenders all day every day, son. Chris is also one super bearded hard workin’ animal. He hails from Otego, a small town in Upstate NY. After graduating from SUNY ESF in Syracuse Chris joined the Desert Restoration Corps for 8 months where he was SoCal it hurt. Chris has continued his SCA service with Wild Corps. Chris also loves eating fish tacos and cleaning his boots. The snooze puts his pants on one leg at a time, and prefers to take off only one while completing certain tasks. The tools of his trade are smooth rocks, pine cones, and the occasional fist full of sand.
I graduated from Florida State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies where I enjoyed studying political geography, biogeography, GIS, and traditional photography. I have spent most of my life in the south east and am very excited about spending the next part of my life in the wilderness of California, hiking, creating a new community, and hopefully surfing some hidden breaks. This is my first position with SCA and my first opportunity to spend prolonged amounts of time in the backcountry.
