Located in southwestern Louisiana, on the Gulf coast next to Texas, Cameron Prairie, Lacassine, and Sabine National Wildlife Refuges comprise 184,000 acres of fresh and salt marshes, coastal prairie, bottomland hardwoods, and managed agricultural areas. Managed to preserve and protect wintering waterfolw and their habitats, these wetlands are also home to many year round bird species as well as numerous species of wildlife and fish.
Visitor Services Intern duties include: supporting fishing,interpretive, wildlife observation, photography and volunteer programs; operating and maintaining visitor center; improving and maintaining recreation areas and facilities; conducting group tours; collecting and entering visitor data; interacting with the public; and exposure to a multitude of refuge administration and operations. Intern needs their own vehicle for non-work travel to obtain necessities.
