Visitor Services Intern

The intern will work with the Interpretive staff at Isle Royale. The major duties of the position are to welcome visitors to the park; learn how to prepare, research, and present interpretive programs; staff the island visitor centers; orient park visitors arriving on ferry boats, private boats, and seaplanes; inform visitors about park facilities and resources; process backcountry permits; help visitors plan trips; collect fees; sell educational merchandise; conduct roving patrols in the backcountry; assist other divisions with emergencies; and promote resource protection through park rules, regulations, and Leave No Trace Principles. This position isn't eligible for AmeriCorps.
