My name is Mike Marchetti, everyone calls me by my last name and that is what I like to be called…too many Mikes and Michaels out there. Anyways I was born in Boston, lived in New Hampshire for 10 years, moved to Texas for one and have lived in Maryland ever since. I went to school at Ohio University and graduated in June of 2010 with a B.S. degree in Geography. Living in rural Ohio and taking some environmental classes got me into witnessing the beauty of nature and wanting to understand more of it. So I ended up joining with the SCA from September 2010 to May 2011 withe Desert Restoration Corps. It was quite possible one of the best experiences of my life, and I look forward to many more on this Tour 40 Team.
Andrew was born and raised in North Carolina where he recently graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Geography - GIS. This is his third season with SCA and he is looking forward to representing SCA while traveling to new places and eating many tacos.
Becca is a recent graduate from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York. This is her second SCA internship. Last summer she was a Biology and Wildlife Monitoring Intern at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina where she trapped black bears and tracked their movements. In her free time she enjoys playing sports, guitar, and being outdoors. Her favorite part of her internship this summer has been being able to help so many organizations with great volunteer work. She is looking forward to working with SCA again after this internship!

Happy Trails!
Greetings All,
Welcome to the SCA Corps Page of the Tour 40 Team.
This team was designed in Spring 2011 to bring together a range of different people from various backgrounds. The five SCA Corps Members were chosen for their experience and skills in communications, media, public relations, field experience and planning/management to form the Tour 40 Team. Two SCA Project Leaders were also brought on to the project to help lead the team on their adventure across the country.
A quick summary:
The Tour 40 is a project that the SCA has partnerned with Southwest Airlines to create. A team of 7 is traveling across the country as you read this to 25 cities and planning a total of 40 conservation projects. Each of these cities is a hub where Southwest Airlines flies to. The Tour 40 Team is traveling the country in an RV that is designed to look like a Southwest Plane (see photos). For 4 months, this team is driving, working and living out of this converted RV.
Please visit the Tour 40 website at: www.southwest.com/tour40 to sign up to volunteer or just to learn more about the tour and the team.
The team's micro-site is at: http://tour40.thesca.org/
You can also check back to the team's SCA Corps website for updates.
If you are twitter friendly we also have a twitter: @Tour40Team
We hope you all have a great day and that we get to see you at either: one of our volunteer events or out in the field when we pass through your project areas!
Happy Trails!
Tyler is one of two Project Leaders on the Tour 40 Team. This is Tyler's third season with SCA, with the previous two working with the Conservation Corps - Native Plants. His passion for the outdoors and experience working with varios non-profit and volunteer groups continue to bring him back to conservation work. He still enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, photography and long walks on the beach.
Tyler hopes to see more of the country and pick up some new hobbies along the tour. If you are in any of the cities or areas the team drives through please email Tyler or the team and they will allocate time to hang out.
