Message to SCA partners

As lawmakers continue their budget negotiations, like you, SCA is preparing for a government shutdown at midnight tonight.

We are committed to minimizing any related impact on you and our members. SCA has notified members currently serving and living on federal lands that, based on our discussions with government partners, they will be permitted to remain in federal housing, at least for the time being. If this is not the case at your site, please contact your SCA program representative immediately.

We have also provided our members with a toll-free hotline telephone number should they need SCA assistance in the days ahead. We advised them that living allowances and health insurance will continue without interruption and to ensure they have sufficient food, medicines and other personal items on hand. In addition we emphasized that should the government close, they must abide by government shutdown rules for your site. We ask your assistance in briefing your SCA intern on the shutdown protocols for your site so they can remain safe and operate within those rules.

SCA will be monitoring this situation throughout the day and, if necessary, beyond. We will provide you and our members with further updates later today based on the situation at that time.
