The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is seeking qualified applicants to lead, educate, and inspire high school students with the 2013 Detroit Conservation Leadership Corps summer program, a partnership with the Greening of Detroit with major underwriting from Johnson Controls, Inc. You can make a difference this summer by being a part of a program that promotes youth leadershipdevelopment, environmental stewardship and exposure to Green career opportunities in Detroit.
Co-lead, mentor and coach a crew of 10 students, ages 15-18, while completing various conservation service projects designed to build an ethic of community and environmental stewardship. Projects include a range of activities such as trail and park maintenance, habitat restoration, vacant lot reclamation projects and urban agriculture. In addition, leaders will facilitate pre- and post- program planning which includes crew training, environmental education and reporting.

Compensation: Up to $575/week, depending on experience, for six or seven week program. Work schedule is approximately 8hrs/day, M-F, 7:30am – 3:30pm. Includes mandatory, all expense paid residential training in June (dates TBD) and local trainings, workshops and service projects leading up to program dates. Program dates are tentatively set for end of June through mid August 2013.
