Backcountry Steward - Central Adirondack Forest Preserve

In this internship you will patrol the frontcountry by motor vehicle and access the backcountry by foot to monitor public use and prevent potential impacts to natural resources.

Backcountry Steward Internship-Lake Ontario Dunes

Starts May 17, 2015 • NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, Dexter, NY

In this internship you will access the backcountry by foot or canoe along the fragile dune system on the eastern shores of Lake Ontario. Duties include: educating the public on the importance of the dune system and protection of the natural resources.

Interpretation Intern

Starts February 8, 2015 • Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park, Stonewall, TX

Interpretive guide to lead tours of “Texas White House” at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. Interns will live and work on the historic working cattle ranch that served as President and Mrs. Johnson’s refuge, showplace, and homeplace.

Interpretation Intern

Perform natural & cultural interpretation at the Memorial Visitor Center and surrounding grounds. Conduct tours, give orientation, show films, assist at information desk, & collect entrance fees. Develop & implement Junior Ranger Day programs for kids.

Education Intern

Shorebird Intern will assist in maintaining protection signs and fences. Conduct daily observations of breeding shorebirds.
