Assist Waterfront staff with boat ramp/marina management and special events. Provide biological monitoring, data collection/entry, implement resource protection strategies, provide community outreach, staff the Nature Center and write technical reports for the Shorebird Monitoring Program at Huguenot Memorial Park. Assist in development of upland and wetland restoration projects; GPS and GIS mapping; invasive/exotic plant removal projects; nature/environmental education programming; and provide information about the City’s parks to the public to cause a positive change in people’s behavior toward nature and the environment.
1. Assist Waterfront staff with boat ramp/marina management and special events.
2. Assist in implementation of protection strategies for nesting shorebirds.
This position will help manage waterfront resources and facilities in Jacksonville, FL.
Intern will develop shorebird ID skills and learn about protection strategies.
Intern will learn how to identify a variety of shorebirds and how to protect them.
