Jimmy Carter National Historic Site is seeking two Museum Collections Interns to assist the curator with completing special collections management projects including; finishing the 100% inventory (initial work to be completed by NPS staff), updating locations and catalog data in the Interior Collections Management System (ICMS) and photographing the collections and uploading images into ICMS.  The Interns will also assist in performing regular collections management duties, such as housekeeping and integrated pest management (IPM).  Other duties may include assisting in re-organizing storage areas, completing the annual inventory and making improvements to object labeling and storage. Interns may also occasionally be asked to perform light duty maintenance activities such as berry picking. The Interns will receive training on the care and handling of museum objects, operation of ICMS and other programs, museum housekeeping and IPM. 

  • Plains, GA is a small town located in SW GA, approximately 160 miles south of Atlanta and 125 miles north of Tallahassee. Nearby cities include Americus, GA (10 mi. Pop. 17k), Albany, GA (40 mi. Pop. 77k) and Columbus, GA (50 mi. Pop. 200,000).
