Project duties include observing and assisting in the collection of biological data specific to sea turtle nesting season and barrier island ecosystem restoration, improving wildlife habitat, controlling exotic vegetation, maintaining refuge equipment, aiding in environmental education and interpretation,  and various other refuge related projects.

Beach and Dune Habitats - Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge
  • Hobe Sound, Florida - located on Florida’s east coast in southern Martin County
  • Defensive driver training, small equipment safety training, and chainsaw and ATV training (depending on timing of training opportunity).
  • Intern will participate in the Refuge’s robust environmental education programs - assisting the Hobe Sound Nature Center as needed and may be avaialble for details to other south Florida Refuges including A.R.M. Loxahatchee NWR and others as needed.
