The  museum studies and/or library/archival science candidate selected will work under the guidance of the curatorial staff on the processing and arranging of materials associated with the Fort Hunt Park/PO Box 1142 collection. The principle duties will be to review materials composed of different mediums (CD/DVD, paper, photographs, and electronic records) and, in consultation with the park curator and Regional staff, identify those materials that will be incorporated into the museum collection as well as materials that could comprise a reference collection. Work will include developing a finding aid for the archival collection, removing extraneous materials for inclusion in a reference collection, integration into the current collection and updating museum records as needed. Experience in the Interior Collections Management System (ICMS)/Re:Discovery database is a plus. Experience working with library and archival collections including processing oral histories is a plus. The experience will include working with a World War II-era collection and archival/oral history materials, as well as working with curatorial staff to understand the many aspects of a park-based museum program.
