Georgianna Piper Jennison, more commonly known as Georgie, is a 25-year-old photographer, traveler and aspiring philanthropist. Born and raised in New Hampshire, Georgie has also lived in England, Greece, Italy and Zambia. She graduated from Chester College of New England in 2008 with a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on art history and photography.

In the summer of 2007 Georgie worked as a Museum and Archeology intern with the SCA at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. In New Mexico, Georgie was a key staff person for 300+ acre archeological survey of a planned prescribed burn area. She also received training in snake handling and backcountry safety. Her fantastic Cultural Resource Management internship experience at Carlsbad inspired Georgie to want to spread the word about SCA!

How did you hear about SCA?

Web search because I desperately needed an internship to graduate from college.

What programs have you done?

Interned in 2007 as a Museum/Archaeology Technician at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico.

What is your best memory of your internship(s)?

Not stepping on any six foot rattle snakes while in the field.

What did you get out of SCA?

Currently a full time employee of the organization.

What is your favorite National Park/land spot?

Cape Cod National Seashore.

What is the best advice that you can give someone who is thinking of SCA, but is not sure if it is for them?

I didn’t think it was for me either but look at me now!
